When I witnessed this incredible sunrise in Budapest in late 2019, I had no idea that life would soon take me back to Australia and that COVID would slam the door shut behind me for the next two years. My Hungarian residence permit had just been renewed for five years, but I wouldn't see the Danube again until September 2022.
